Ever wondered how some brands seem to burst onto the scene with all guns blazing while others... well, let's just say – don't?
It's not magic, it's strategy – a well crafted and considered pre-launch strategy.
Before we dive in, let me share a quick anecdote. A few years ago (starting to show my age here), I was launching my first brand and product. I'd invested blood, sweat, tears and a considerable chunk of change into it. But when D-Day arrived, rather than the Shopify "Cha-Ching", the only sound I heard was crickets.
Why? Because I'd overlooked the power of a pre-launch strategy.
Don't make my mistakes.
Now – let's get down to brass tacks.
Step 1: Build a tribe, not just an audience
Think of your customers as a community; your tribe. You want people who are not just interested in your product, but also engaged with your brand's vision. Start by identifying your ideal customer and then create content that speaks directly to them.
Step 2: Create a buzz
Generate excitement around your upcoming launch. Leverage social media, blog posts, influencers, SMS – whatever it takes to get the word out. Remember anticipation is key. You want your tribe waiting with bated breath for your launch.
Step 3: Give 'em a taste
Consider offering a sneak peek of your product. This could be a sample, a demo on a live feed, or a behind-the-scenes look at the product creation process. It's like offering a free sample at the grocery store – it's darn hard to resist.
Step 4: Leverage scarcity
Nothing makes people want something more than the fear of missing out. Use genuine scarcity – limited-time offers or exclusive pre-launch deals to create a sense of urgency.
Now, I know this might seem like a lot. But these strategies can be the difference between a launch that's a dud and one that's a runaway success, building momentum that snowballs.
And remember, it's not about perfection. It's about progress.
It's time to take the bull by the horns and start building that anticipation for your brand!
